Overview

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team of talented software engineers. You will be expected to own critical system components, lead high impact initiatives, work closely with product engineering and product management teams, and build the best in class document verification products for our customers.

Role and Responsibilities

• You will partner with our distributed cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, Computer Vision, Data Science) to conceptualize and develop new features and products in an agile environment.

• You will own end-to-end delivery of software components all the way to production, owning team features or system components.

• You will be building backend services at scale, and producing high-quality results with direct business impact. 

• You will be monitoring and improving existing deployments, ensuring that we are continuously improving our product. 

• You will participate in the design and implementation discussions of our backend and client applications. You will often lead such discussions.

• You will participate in the on-call rotation, triaging and resolving production issues and addressing bugs.

• You will mentor and guide the junior team members while growing your own career with the support of leadership throughout the business.

Required Qualifications 

• BS or higher, in Computer Science or related technical field.

• You have 4+ years of experience in software engineering with strong backend development experience.

• You are interested in our tech stack: Java, Go, SQL/NoSQL, AWS, JavaScript, React.

• You have strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, architecture, design patterns, various programming languages, etc.

• You understand engineering best practices and seek to improve engineering standards, tooling and processes.

• You are comfortable driving technical decisions within our Engineering team.

• You have the ability to develop operational knowledge to use any new technology or language as needed for the job.

• You have a customer-first mindset and ability to communicate complex technical concepts with individuals across varying levels and functions of the organization.

• You are comfortable working within agile methodologies in a global, cross-functional, collaborative team environment.

• You are an excellent collaborator and have superb communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong experience with AWS, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, Kubernetes, Datadog and other cloud technology.

• Strong experience with SDLC tools and processes, including source control, test automation and build solutions.

• Strong experience working on Computer Vision or Machine Learning projects, and deploying models in production environments.
