Project Director – Strategic Initiatives

Location:  This position will work in a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of our Indianapolis, IN PulsePoint location.

National Government Services is a proud member of Elevance Health's family of brands. We administer government contracts for Medicare and partner with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to transform federal health programs.

The Project Director – Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for identifying key people to bring about change and develops a network of contacts and targets specific people to achieve project goals and objectives.

How you will make an impact:

  • Manages projects across business units, regions, or the enterprise.

  • Influences at all levels within the organization, often setting strategy and direction.

  • Coaches and mentors project team members.

  • Mentors other project managers around project management methodology.

  • Determines project scope; develops resource, risk, quality, cost, and scope management plans.

  • Develops training plans.

  • Defines, recommends and secures contractual agreements for services and products.

  • Coordinates requirements, schedules implementation and post-implement plans.

  • Develops service-level agreements for vendor partners and global resources firms.

  • Develops requirements documents and develops project approval matrix.

  • Identifies project team training and tool needs.

  • Defines quality gates for each project methodology phase.

  • Defines critical success factors; establishes and manages the project warranty period.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a BA/BS in a related field and minimum of 9 years professional project management experience, which at least 7 years are spent leading and directing large project tasks; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

  • This position is part of our NGS (National Government Services) division which, per CMS TDL 190275, requires foreign national applicants meet the residency requirement of living in the United States at least three of the past five years.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experience:

  • Awareness of significant contributing factors to manage project change and demonstration of a solid understanding of end-to-end business processes strongly preferred.

  • Masters in Project Mgt preferred.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
