Job Summary:

The Logistics & Supply Chain Intern will play a key role in supporting Cognex’s operational transformation across Asia. This internship focuses on two key areas: Global Customer On-Time Delivery (OTD) improvement and Go-Direct Transformation. The intern will research, analyze, and propose solutions to optimize supply chain processes, enhance customer delivery performance, and enable direct-to-customer business models in diverse Asia markets

Essential Functions:

Go-Direct Transformation Support: Research and document country‑specific customs rules, import requirements, product certification needs, and other regulatory considerations necessary for Cognex to conduct direct‑to‑customer business. Conduct a feasibility study outlining what is required for Cognex to proceed with direct business in targeted markets in terms of process requirements, compliance checks and system needs. Prepare a comprehensive proposal summarizing the regulatory requirements, challenges, gaps and limitations related to direct business operations across Asia. Develop guidelines or an operating framework for enabling direct business across Asia to achieve successful OTD improvement. Support risk-buy process planning at the start of operations. Drive Build-to-Order (BTO) SKU rationalization, focusing on core models to streamline product offerings. Connect customer quotes with forecasts, ensuring clear communication of lead times across four scenarios:

  • Standard product with forecast/in stock
  • Standard product without forecast/not in stock
  • BTO with forecast/risk buy
  • BTO without forecast/risk buy

Collaborate with China Distribution Center to enable local software burning, improving responsiveness and reducing lead times.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Interest in supply chain operations, international trade, and logistics, particularly within the APAC region. Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret regulations, summarize findings, and translate insights into practical recommendations. Ability to work cross-functionally, manage data, and contribute to process optimization initiatives.

Minimum education and work experience required:

Students pursuing Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or Business,

Hands-on experience or coursework in process mapping, data analysis, and regional logistics optimization is preferred
