The RIA Client Advisor is responsible for furthering the growth of NB’s Enterprise RIA business through strategic relationship building and business development initiatives with the top 100 U.S.-based RIAs. The RIA Client Advisor must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, a deep understanding of investments and capital markets, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, with both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively profile clients, developing a deep understanding of their specific investment goals, objectives, and processes

  • Provide insightful commentary regarding market movements, economic and industry trends, product and portfolio updates; offer clients accurate performance attribution, portfolio strategy, and market performance insights; summarize and explain complex financial and economic concepts to educate clients through strategic dialogue

  • Liaise with other internal teams (marketing, performance, analytics, operations, legal & compliance) to ensure client needs are met; effectively build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders within each function

  • Proactively tackle client issues head-on by swiftly engaging the appropriate internal stakeholders to ensure comprehensive and timely solutions

  • Accountable for 5-10 client meetings per week

  • Possess strong client relationship skills; influence senior clients to grow advocacy with investment teams

  • Focus 75%+ of the time on business development activities

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ client-facing experience, ideally from within a structured, intermediary distribution business

  • Strong relationship management and business development skills; existing RIA relationships a plus

  • Strong fixed income/ETF background with a fundamental understanding of alternatives desired

  • Ability to effectively communicate and position complex financial instruments and investment processes

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, evolving environment; capacity and ability to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities

  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and follow-up

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to extensively collaborate within internal teams

  • Desire to contribute to the building of a nascent business

  • Series 7, 63/65 or Series 7, 66 required

  • Series 31 required within 3 months of employment

  • CFP, CIMA, and/or CFA/CAIA desired

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $175,000-$190,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package.
