Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Wildfire Mitigation Compliance Specialist to join our Wildfire Mitigation team. This is a temporary two-year role. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. Our work plays a critical role in the communities we serve across Idaho and Oregon, and we’re working hard to safely provide our customers with the reliable, affordable, clean energy they can depend on. While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote. Relocation assistance may also be provided to the successful candidate.

What does a Wildfire Mitigation Compliance Specialist do for us?

The Wildfire Mitigation Compliance Specialist role supports the development of the company’s Wildfire Mitigation Plan and associated regulatory compliance initiatives. They monitor and document annual mitigation initiatives and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and other stakeholders to develop, implement, and monitor mitigation programs and assists in the preparation of reports and documentation for regulatory filings. They analyze data and reports to monitor program performance and identify areas for improvement.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in natural resources, communications, business, or similar

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in utility operations, wildfire mitigation, or program management

Preferred:

  • Wildfire mitigation plan development, regulatory engagement, technical document development, management of medium scale projects

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires both office work and field work. The office work requires working at a desk/computer. It also requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs.

The field work consists of meeting at outdoor worksites and off-site meeting areas. Driving is performed frequently. Lifts no greater than 10lbs are performed occasionally and occasional walking is required on sometimes rough, uneven ground. Stooping, bending, and standing is performed occasionally. Temporary employees are eligible to apply for internal job postings.
