About the Role:
As a member of the global centre of excellence, the Director Total Rewards, Americas is responsible and accountable for leading the Americas compensation, health and welfare agenda to ensure Convatec deploys effective rewards and benefits to attract, retain and motivate great talent in all the markets in which we operate.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and developing local reward team to deliver excellent customer service.
- Review and benchmark compensation arrangements and salary structures versus local market, best practice and competitors’ offerings.
- Develop and maintain market-competitive pay offerings across the region in line with Convatec’s Total Rewards philosophy and policies.
- Proactive partnering with local and global HR to address specific pay and bonus related issues.
- Total Reward education for HR colleagues and line managers through formal training, proactive engagement and communications.
- Partner with HRBPs and Talent Acquisition to support the preparations of offers for senior management in collaboration with the global Total Rewards team.
- Support managers and employees with the communication and embedding of Convatec’s grading structure, global reward framework and incentive plans.
- Preparing and managing the annual compensation review for the region and integration with Workday.
- Review and benchmark health and welfare benefits versus local market, best practice and competitor offerings.
- Manage insured benefits and retirement offerings in partnership with vendors, to ensure competitive offerings for employees, effective compliance and governance, and annual enrolment activities.
- Oversee all fiduciary duties and ensure compliance.
- Champion global initiatives and employee offerings in region.
- Lead or support global reward projects as a member of the global centre of excellence.
- Ensuring values and Forever Caring are embedded in every aspect of the role.
Your Key Duties:
Reward Partnering
- Lead the annual reward calendar in the region, supporting HR and line managers to deliver.
- Partner with HR in the region, ensuring understanding of reward practices, listening to feedback and developing solutions in support of business growth.
- Educate and inform the business on reward practices, ensuring processes and policies remain relevant and appropriate.
Embedding and maintaining the Global Reward Framework
- Refine, document and communicate the global pay, bonus and benefits policies and associated guidance as appropriate for the region.
- Embed the governance framework following the transition to the global centre of excellence for Total Rewards.
- Support the implementation of pay benchmarking tools and maintenance of local salary ranges and bonus levels in the region in collaboration with the Group Total Rewards team, local HR and external consultants.
Job Architecture and Global Levelling
- Embed and manage the global job architecture and grading structure, ensuring consistent calibration of all roles.
- Be the regional custodian of best practice and process around new hire and/or role changes with regards to grading and pay decisions.
Process and Data for Reward
- Partner with HRIS to ensure quality and accuracy of data, identifying enhancements and opportunities to automate processes.
Annual compensation review
- Support review and validation of relevant budget, market and employee data before the commencement of the annual compensation review.
- Collaborate with HRIS and the wider Total Rewards team on the set-up and testing of the Workday tool functionality prior to process launch
- Support training and communications both globally and regionally to improve compensation decisions made by managers.
Incentive Plans
- Manage the Global Incentive Plan (GIP) within the region, ensuring all processes are maintained and understood.
- Review and monitor eligibility between sales incentives, plant bonus and the GIP.
- Collaborate with local HR and finance teams, providing guidance and management reporting to enable decision making.
The role will be based in North America and will work closely with colleagues across the Americas region, supporting all business units and functions. Americas at Convatec encompasses all of North America (United States & Canada) and the 8 countries in LATAM where we have a presence (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru)
Requirements:
- Very strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work with people at all levels in an engaging manner.
- Proven experience of managing employee reward and benefits in the US, Canada and the 8 countries where Convatec operates in LATAM, including effective engagement strategies, vendor management and competitive benchmarking.
- Able to manage a regional budget ensuring competitive employee offerings combined with financial governance.
- Able to work in a global organisation, with a matrix structure.
- Experience of applying survey and benchmarking data.
- Strong working knowledge and experience in embedding and managing job architecture and grading systems.
- In-depth knowledge of regional compensation practices and local pay legislation.
- Experience of managing 401k and non-qualifying plans and all associated governance.
- Ability to prioritise and manage work in a busy global environment and with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience of Workday ideal.
