Caterpillar has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager who is career-oriented and wants to be challenged.  In this Accounting Manager position, you will have the opportunity to become one of our future business leaders by managing a team of staff accountants and providing expertise on complex business, financial or managerial issues within the Building Construction Products (BCP) division. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be critical as you will provide key support to the BCP accounting leaders and other leadership teams across the organization.

What You Will Do:

• Provides first level of supervision with both technical and administrative responsibility for a team of management staff
• Manages team’s workload, prioritizes projects, and reviews work
• Evaluates and reports on staff performance, participates in employee selection, provides career guidance and training direction, complies with personnel practices, and promotes team rewards and successes
• Motivates team members to work towards individual and team goals / objectives and fosters an environment of teamwork and cooperation
• Ensures team members complete monthly tasks and journal entries on time
• Reviews current controls and provides updates as needed.
• Supports monthly results reporting, as well as quarterly and annual forecasts

What You Have:

• Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
• Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
• Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
• Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
• Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
