Dev Ops Intern 1

Job Purpose

We are looking for a talented technical, dedicated, self-motivated intern within Pokerstars to build knowledge on deploying and maintaining highly available, highly scalable applications, while learning all the relevant skills in this regard, on the CI/CD side.

You will be part of a DevOps team that is supporting all of the applications within the payments/accounts area, in an Agile environment, being involved in the entire deployment lifecycle.
 

Key responsibilities:

• Learning to deploy to our cloud based infrastructure in AWS

• Get familiar with technical design principles (e.g. scalability, reliability, high availability, efficiency) and deployment strategies (e.g. canary, blue-green)

• Experience in application and infrastructure security, particularly within the cloud

• Incident handling and pragmatic operational decisions

• Configuration management (ansible/salt)

• Experience of creating, and best practises for CI/CD (I.e. Jenkins/GitHub workflows) automation

• Demonstrated creative problem solving and proactive learning

• Cross-company projects to deliver cloud foundational capabilities

• Learn about infrastructure as code

Skills and Capabilities

• Bachelor’s degree (finished or in progress) or technical diploma in computer science, computer technology or related field

• Basic knowledge of code versioning tools, such as Git;

• Basic knowledge of operating systems, such as Linux;

• Basic experience with scripting (e.g. python/bash)

• Basic knowledge of container technologies (including Docker and Kubernetes)

• Basic knowledge about Configuration and Deployment Automation tools using Ansible, Terraform or similar

• Basic understanding of cloud-native operations, technologies, principles, and infrastructure as code

• Basic automated testing understanding (unit)
