An application cloud solution engineer is a hands-on technical role spanning across design, build, and production. In this role, you will lead the application evaluation for cloud migration strategies, which includes collecting business requirements, creating a well-informed plan, and managing its implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing cloud solutions to meet business and IT needs, ensuring technical viability of new projects and successful deployments, while orchestrating key resources and infusing key Infrastructure technologies including Kubernetes, AI/ML, Azure PaaS services (e.g., App Service, Java, containers, serverless, cloud native, etc.) and Application Development with low code options and DevOps and GitHub technologies as appropriate.
- Partnering and leading deep technical architecture discussions with senior executives, line-of-business leaders, Enterprise Architects, IT Management and Developers.
- Applying governance methodologies to minimize business and technical risks and adhere to quality assurance while contributing to design and/or delivery of solutions. Demonstrate an understanding of conditions of success.
- Applying technical knowledge of architecture solutions to meet business and information technology (IT) requirements and resolve identified technical constraints.
- Providing Thought Leadership - Share ideas, insight, and technical input with team members.
- Formulating strategies by providing analysis of overall needs in alignment towards the company’s technology priorities and advise on gaps as part of capacity planning and ensuring execution of technology strategy and digital transformation.
- Creating and maintaining mid- and long-term technical and business roadmaps + vision.
- Fostering technical acumen and maintaining technical skills and knowledge of market trends, opportunities, and insights.
- Having advanced experience and knowledge of IT operations, including virtualization, identity, business continuity, disaster recovery, data platforms, and governance.
- Advising stakeholders and translate business requirements into designs for secure, scalable, and reliable Azure solutions.
- Designing and recommend application architectures, compute, network, and migration solutions.
- Managing how decisions in each area affect an overall solution. In addition, you should have experience in Azure administration, Azure development, and DevOps processes.
Qualifications
Professional:
- Experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solution/projects.
- Ability to solve problems and unblock technical issues through cloud technologies, leveraging internal and/or external resources.
- Acknowledged for driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to orchestrate, lead, and influence teams; Strong presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences at different levels of organizations is required.
Technical:
- 6-10+ years of success in technology solutions/practice development, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of highly distributed applications is required.
- 5+ years of experience in the following skill areas: Cloud application design, software architecture and practices; (e.g., SCRUM), Cloud application development solutions (e.g., PaaS, containers, serverless), One or more programming languages (e.g., C++, C#, Java) , Integrated development environments (e.g., Visual Studio), Cloud-native application architecture (e.g., containers, microservices, API management), DevOps and CI/CD technologies (e.g., GitHub, Azure for DevOps, etc.), Application Modernization Techniques.
- Enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, and technology management.
- Deep understanding of digital transformation business drivers, cloud platforms, emerging computing trends and their impact on partner practice building opportunities.
- Understanding of Data & AI technologies in context of app development (e.g., SQL and NoSQL Databases, Big Data, Cognitive Service, Machine Learning etc.) preferred.
- Understanding of Low code platform and technologies such as Power Platform preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience required.
- Certification in the following technologies preferred: Cloud, mobile, web application development, cloud-native application architecture (i.e., containers, microservices, API management), modern software development techniques like DevOps and CI/CD tool chains (i.e., Jenkins, Spinnaker, Azure developer services, GitHub) and container orchestration systems (i.e., Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, Cloud Foundry, Azure Kubernetes Service, GitHub), Low Code (Power Platform) required.
