Reporting to the Director of Procurement you will manage the procurement of Spices, Blends, Flavors and Seasonings categories and additional oversight of the vitamins, colors, and dehydrated categories with a total spend exceeding $100 million. The Category Manager’s role is to source high quality ingredients with consideration to price, quality, logistics, reliability, and urgency of need. You will be accountable for research, high-level problem resolution, complex negotiations, master data analysis, and project management. You will collaborate with other departments to identify process improvement and sourcing opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate complex requests for materials using an understanding of market dynamics, cost drivers, and logistics.
  • Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.
  • Develop an understanding of company facilities and requirements, capabilities, processes, and constraints with a goal to drive continuous improvement activities.
  • Build relationships and lead sourcing projects with multiple cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
  • Guide business process improvements and digital technology adoption.
  • Assure the service and quality requirements of Conagra Brands are met, along with the required innovation and product improvements.
  • Work with Suppliers, Operations, and Brands to resolve all supply chain issues.
  • Manage supplier relationships and track Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to evaluate and improve supply chain performance.
  • Understand advanced sourcing practices and their application.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • 5+ years' experience in Procurement or a related field
  • Experience with procurement/strategic sourcing end-user expectations and requirements.
  • Excel – Intermediate level
  • Continuous improvement mindset and methodology
  • In the office 3 days per week, Tuesday - Thursday
