Travelers Europe is looking for a Project Manager, ideally with experience of working within the insurance market, to join our team in London.

You will be the primary point of responsibility for the management and implementation of your assigned project(s) and workstreams within the European operation. You will manage and oversee the project plans, backlogs, work-stream activities, milestones, risks and issues and ensure a normalised approach across the project portfolio of work. You will also coach and mentor others outside the Project Management Office (PMO) in project management and Lean techniques, to liaise with work stream leaders, business stakeholders, business analysts and IT staff to ensure that goals and milestones are met.

Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion.

This role is eligible for a £2,500 new joiner referral bonus. If you are successfully referred by an employee at Travelers Europe, both you and the person who referred you could be eligible for this bonus.

What Will You Do?

  • Work with supervision to manage, oversee, plan and execute the project(s) assigned - using appropriate methodologies, tools and techniques.
  • Coach and mentor non-PMO project managers in project management skills, and provide support to them on an-ad hoc basis as required.
  • Provide thought-leadership to help the PMO leadership team model the way in providing a centre of excellence for project management and delivery in Europe.

  • Be responsible for ensuring that all project literature, artefacts and analytics are kept up to date, proportionate and of the required standard.
  • Help manage the dependencies between projects and programmes, understand risk and ensure that mitigation plans are being managed appropriately.
  • Manage project resources effectively and ensure clear direction is provided.
  • Manage executive level relationships.
  • As an employee you are expected to act in an ethical manner at all times. You will ensure you understand all compliance and regulatory requirements for your role by completing all necessary training and certifications.
  • As an employee we expect your actions and outcomes will at all times meet local regulatory and supervisory approaches to ensure fair treatment of our customers. You will ensure you keep adequate records of all transactions undertaken with customers, brokers and all other parties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Preferably you will have:

  • Certification in a structured Project Management Methodology, including (but not limited to) Prince2, ISEB, PMP.
  • Experience within a Scrum Master role in an Agile Development environment, including general knowledge of Kanban.
  • A track record as Project Manager of up to 8 work-streams and related IT and non-IT projects, and in managing and understanding the impact of change, liaising with the Business and senior executive stakeholders to help formulate an appropriate project and programme plan.
  • Thorough knowledge of, and experience in, developing the Business Case.
  • You should be able to be business focused, level-headed, collaborative and comfortable working at all levels of the organisation with excellent negotiation, communication, mentoring and coaching skills.
  • You should also be able to proactively identify and manage risk to eliminate the need for invoking contingency plans.
  • You should also be able to recommend re-scoping, postponement, or cancellation as needed.

What is a Must Have?
