About the Department


The Developed Markets Equity team manages approximately £33bn across a range of strategies focusing on four outcomes: Sustainable & Quality, Income, Thematic, and Smaller Companies. While distinct in their risk tolerances and return objectives, our equity portfolios share a common goal: to consistently add value through active management. Our success is derived from the insight of our team members, our collaborative approach, and adherence to robust and repeatable investment processes. The integration of environmental, social, and governance considerations is central to everything we do. The team maintains comprehensive coverage of North American, European, and UK equity markets and enjoys direct access to company management at the very highest levels.

About the Role


Reporting into the Head of Developed Markets Research, the Investment Director position will form a key part of our Developed Markets Equity Research team, providing large-cap research coverage and idea generation for our portfolio teams. The role will cover companies listed in North America, Europe, and the UK, with a primary focus on the Information Technology sector. Team members are based predominantly in London, with others in Edinburgh, Boston, and Philadelphia, and the role could be based in any of those locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce consistently high-quality fundamental research and generate compelling investment insights relevant to our strategies, using a combination of quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques.

  • Monitor sector, country, and market developments and trends.

  • Regularly engage with company management to enhance and refresh investment insights.

  • Fully integrate environmental, social, and governance analysis into company research and develop a comprehensive understanding of the supporting tools.

  • Collaborate with portfolio managers to shape research priorities and ensure an appropriate spread of ideas across strategies and regions.

  • Comply with all regulatory, legal, corporate, and client mandates.

  • Expertise in researching companies within the Technology sector.

  • Passion for investing with strong analytical capabilities.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively within a team-oriented environment.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
