The Northrop Grumman Accounting Services team is looking to hire an Accountant 2 (level 02). The position reports directly to the Manager of Enterprise General Accounting in Irving, TX. This a hybrid role which includes being in the office and working virtually. The chosen candidate must report to one of our office locations at least two days per week in either Irving, TX, El Segundo, CA, or Bloomington, MN.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate month end, quarter, and year end accounting close requirements,
- Prepare and review journal entries,
- Support accounting close activities including reviewing trial balances, loading S4 general ledger data to FDMEE/Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), reviewing FDMEE files to identify S4 table or other loading errors, ensuring errors are corrected and data are reconciled between S4 and HFM,
- Provide shared services support by performing various analytical, procedural, and customer centric tasks such as freight billing, unclaimed property research, and general ledger account maintenance,
- Prepare account reconciliations as assigned in Blackline and resolve reconciling issues,
- Provide audit support to sector business partners,
- Respond to sector business partner ad hoc data requests, inquiries, and problem resolution,
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned tasks, ensuring positive customer interface and good communication,
- Participate in special projects as needed,
- Work effectively with geographically dispersed team and customer.
Candidates will need to possess proficient written and verbal communication skills, as well as demonstrate a proven ability to multi-task, produce quality results and consisently meet deadlines.
Basic Qualifications:
- Accountant 2 (level 02): Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years accounting or finance work experience,
- Demonstrate understanding of accounting principles, practices, and standards,
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) experience,
- Working knowledge and understanding of ERP systems, especially SAP S/4,
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrate ability to assess processes and support improvement, efficiency, and harmonize strategies,
- Fundamental understanding of data analytics,
- Holistic understanding of Balance Sheet account reconciliations,
- Uses technical aptitude to solve problems.
Salary Range: $62,600.00 - $93,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
