GROUP/DIVISION SUMMARY

Global Business Services (GBS) is a customer-centric team of over 2,000 colleagues in nearly 30 countries which focuses on one-company solutions which optimize resources and improve the customer, supplier, and colleague experience. GBS is responsible for Thermo Fisher’s Process Improvement, Procurement, Supply Chain, Security, Real Estate, and Shared Services functions. The GBS Integrations COE Director is a critical conduit and leader for creating successful integrations and/or divestitures for Global Business Services functions on companies acquired/ divested by Thermo Fisher Scientific.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Lead integration processes for Thermo Fisher Scientific's Global Business Services (GBS) in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead GBS functions in integrations or divestitures, coordinate interdependencies, and oversee relevant functions.
  • Team Development: Influence GBS subject matter experts to establish a collaborative and fast-paced environment while being sensitive to change management at the acquired company.
  • Program Management: Develop a comprehensive strategy among diverse workstreams. Address challenges, craft solutions, lead implementation, and sustain changes by bringing to bear connections, detailed exploration, and influence.
  • Strong Collaboration: Foster collaboration among team members and with other key functions and partners to align project activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous process improvement, driving daily enhancements.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned, contributing to organizational success.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree required. 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Leadership: Strong indirect leadership and team management skills. Efficiency in driving collaboration and organized delivery of complex programs.
  • Communication: Outstanding at managing diverse partner interests and building relationships.
  • Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to work independently with high-level judgment.
  • Business Analysis and Problem-Solving Management: Skilled in handling issues and managing ambiguity. Proficient in assessing requirements, analyzing options, and driving implementations.
  • Technical Expertise: Project Management. Advanced skills in MS Office. Experience with M&A, TSA, Divestitures, Shared Services related work is a plus.
