Risk Management is responsible for developing and deploying the risk frameworks to allow the Group to take conscious exposures to credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks within a Board-approved appetite.

Risk Management also ensures the Group has appropriate strategies and frameworks in place to assess, manage and report on those credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks.

The Risk Delivery Business Analysis Chapter (‘BA Chapter’) is a team of business value and delivery focused project professionals who provide the analysis, insights and execution support to deliver the Group-wide systems, applications and processes that underpin the Group’s financial risk management. We support the Chief Credit Officer (CCO) in achieving their strategic priorities in the most effective way to enable the Bank’s customer advocacy goal of NPS +30.

Do work that matters

As a Senior Business Analyst within the Risk Delivery domain, you will:

  • Bring clarity to complex problems to enable better insights that inform our target state.
  • Conduct discovery and capture analysis/findings to underpin key decisions/hypotheses.
  • Drive shared understanding and agreement on problem spaces and solution options.
  • Champion/recommend solutions that enable Risk Management to achieve its strategic priorities.
  • Clearly communicate requirements to enable effective delivery and change management.
  • Build and manage productive relationships with Product Owners; Business Owners and business/system SMEs; and delivery squad members including vendor representatives.

On a day-to-day basis you will

  • Work with stakeholders to understand needs, aspirations and operating environment in order to define clear problem statements.
  • Plan and manage Business Analysis activities including identifying stakeholders; applying requirements management techniques and processes; and communicating progress.
  • Perform current state analysis in conjunction with SMEs across the business and technology.
  • Capture, organise and synthesise information to effectively communicate analysis, insights and requirements to key stakeholders for validation and endorsement.
  • Assess effectiveness of proposed solutions including identification of risks and dependencies.
  • Document process flows, functional documents and data specifications to aid delivery.
  • Create business user stories in line with minimum standards and obtain PO approval.
  • Support prioritisation and estimation of epics and user stories.
  • Manage flow of requirements (user stories) into delivery pipeline to reflect agreed sequencing.
  • Define and support implementation of the target state operating model.
  • Contribute to resolution of blockers, conflicts and other delivery risk events.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by your manager that you have the capability to perform safely in line with relevant internal Bank policies and external regulatory requirements.

  • Domain experience in any of the following: non-retail credit risk or counterparty credit risk. Please state in your application with which (if any) you have experience and interest.
  • Experience with system data analysis and complex calculations/models.
  • Experience in discovery phases of complex change initiatives.
  • Experience in complex analysis and structured problem solving.
  • Experience in risk management in banking or a strong genuine interest in risk management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow, make a meaningful difference and get their ‘hands dirty’.
  • Proficiency across JIRA and Confluence
