About the team and the role:
 
The Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Browse Product Management teams define and build features that optimize the way customers browse our inventory and help our customers easily find and reach relevant eBay pages when searching on search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. With literally hundreds of millions of products listed on eBay globally at any time, the scale at which eBay has to consider search engine optimization puts our team in an outstanding position to innovate and provide immediate value to the business!


The SEO and Browse Product Management teams work closely with Product Development, Data Science, Quality Engineering, Design, and other cross-domain organizations to build scalable and highly available business solutions that are used by millions of eBay users across the globe every day. We are responsible for driving organic traffic that represents billions of dollars’ worth of goods and services bought on eBay.
 
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager, Content to help build out our content strategy and roadmap that will drive SEO traffic to eBay and provide information sought by users when browsing and purchasing on eBay.  You will collaborate with other product teams, business units, marketing, and other global teams to coordinate, define, and scale our content solution.  You will be able to measure both business & operational impact while finding opportunities to scale and increase its capabilities to deliver more value to both our internal and external customers.
 
What you will accomplish:

  • Define the goals, strategy and roadmap for content as a beneficial product as eBay for buyers and as a lever to drive SEO traffic.
  • Define what success looks like, in terms of customer and business outcomes, and then supervise and measure against those goals.
  • Use testing methodologies, user research, and data to drive roadmap and investment decisions.
  • Work with design, user research, analytics, engineering, operations, technical SEO, and other product managers on delivering an extraordinary content solution.

  
What you will bring:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Product Management role preferred
  • A history of delivering measurable impact.
  • Scrappy, fast-learner, self-motivated, and data-driven.
  • Ability to work well in a complex and matrixed environment, bringing structure to big undefined problems.
  • Solid understanding of the user needs, how the data fits in with the front-end experience/design, and know how to validate the outcome via human judgment, A/B testing and other testing methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas into clear, usable end-user requirements and the ability to drive consensus and problem solve
  • Previous experience or knowledge of content or SEO would be desired, but not required.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$135,200 - $205,700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
