Team/Role Overview

The Internal Audit (IA) Central Transformation team is an integral part of the broader IA Transformation team with a mandate to coordinate, drive and report on Internal Audit's assurance efforts across Citi's transformation.

The Director of Central Transformation is a senior role with the responsibility for overseeing the efforts and resources of the Central Transformation Team, inclusive of the data analytics, automation, governance reporting capabilities and business insights.  The Director will support the Chief Auditor of Central Transformation in facing senior members of Internal Audit, the Transformation Office, the broader organization and the regulators in coordinating audit and reporting activities relating to transformation of the firm resulting from the FRB and OCC Consent Orders as well as the associated target state programs.  This role will lead a team dedicated to providing effective check and challenge and aggregated reporting and themes for escalation to senior management, the Board and the Regulators.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Central Team in assessing, monitoring and reporting on Citi’s Consent Order remediation progress through development and analysis of reporting to key members of Management, the Board and the Regulators.

  • Build and maintain strong open relationships with executive stakeholders, working as a partner, to exert influence and provide credible constructive challenge. 

  • Identify and escalate emerging risks, issues and key themes and coordinate the assessment and mitigation of emerging risks and issues with leaders.

  • Provide credible check and challenge to the program’s defined scope, target state, and success criteria to ensure it fully addresses supervisory expectations and underlying issues and root causes.

  • Attract, develop, motivate and retain a highly diverse and effective IA team. Work with the Chief Auditor to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of IA resources, as well as leveraging different approaches and innovative audit tools. Identify and develop talent while providing long-term career opportunities within IA and other areas within Citigroup.

  • Oversee the performance of the annual assessment of the Bank’s progress towards implementing and adhering to the 2020 Consent Order remediation plan.

  • Lead the efforts to drive efficiencies and simplification through the identification and implementation of automation opportunities within Central Transformation and work in close partnership with peers, and senior leaders across IA Transformation to continually evaluate where opportunities exist to simplify, strengthen, and improve the IA Transformation metrics reporting.

  • Ensure the timely and effective coordination and delivery of regular and time sensitive analytics, visualizations, and reports to senior management, regulators, and the Board.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in a related role.

  • Related certifications (CPA, ACA, CFA, CIA, CISA or similar) preferred.

  • Advanced level experience in a related role with extensive experience in business, functional and people management, with proven abilities in taking responsibility for executing concurrently on a portfolio of high-quality deliverables according to strict timetables.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams and managing integrated internal audit and assurance delivery within a strong understanding of governance reporting and data analytics.

  • Ability to quickly comprehend the true risks of complex global issues, escalate to the appropriate level and provide advice on pragmatic commercial solutions.

  • Thought leader in current IA best practice, innovative IA developments and leading the design and delivery of quality risk-based forward looking audit plans.                         

  • Ideally, experience of successfully managing major transformational projects.

  • A self-aware, self-confident individual who has well developed listening skills, and a strong ability to engage in broader group settings.

  • Effective negotiation skills, a proactive, risk based and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent views. This individual must be an articulate and effective communicator, both orally and in writing, with an energetic, charismatic and approachable style.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of internal and external audit and senior management.

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in managing teams and making a positive impact on the organization.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
