Position Summary...
What you'll do...
Manages shipments to distribution centers by building loads, addressing load exceptions, designating carriers, and adding accessorial fees using Transportation Management Systems and other resources. Coordinates with team members to find alternative solutions and escalates exceptions to leadership.
Troubleshoots shipment and load issues, as well as shipment exceptions and re-assignments, by investigating the root cause of problems for carriers and suppliers. Re-assigns and tracks loads in case of failures, reporting exceptions to the relevant parties.
Provides customer service to internal customers, suppliers, and carriers by educating them on Walmart procedures. Collects all relevant information from carriers, suppliers, and replenishment, inputs the information into the transportation system, tracks and traces all advance purchase orders and loads. Alerts internal and external customers about shipment status and coordinates with consolidation and DC operations to ensure event program loads arrive within the delivery window.
Develops and broadens skills and knowledge of all department processes through cross-training and classes. Shares knowledge and experiences with peers and occasionally participates to validate new system functionality, volunteering for projects.
Completes transportation work assignments and priorities by adhering to policies, data, and resources. Collaborates with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners, identifies priorities, deadlines, and exceptions, carries out tasks, communicates progress, and recommends ways to address improvement opportunities. Adapts to and learns from change, challenges, and feedback.
Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, using the open-door policy, and applying these in executing business processes and practices.

The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00-$40.00*
*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
