The Boeing Phantom Works team is seeking a Senior Material Estimator to join the estimating team in Berkeley, MO. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of sophisticated material estimates for new business activities.
Phantom Works is an advanced research and development organization responsible for engaging customers through ground breaking visual modeling and simulation; innovating cross-cutting concepts and technologies; prototyping solutions to extend current products and win new programs; and developing new businesses and entering new markets.
Position Responsibilities:
Leads/coordinates development of complex material estimates from sophisticated technical requirements through the design, build and support stages of the program
Leads/coordinates business proposals, evaluates and makes recommendations based on sophisticated requests for proposal, and substantiates estimates
Partners with Supply Chain and Procurement Financial Analysis to coordinate/lead analysis and integration of subcontractor costs in estimates
Establishes and maintains complex Priced Bills of Material (PBOMs)
Leads/coordinates and performs sophisticated analyses and clearly articulates recommendations in support of material estimates (risk, financial, competitive, etc.)
Conducts training and technical mentoring for team members
Supports compliance and proposal writing activities
This position is expected to be 100% onsite in Berkeley, MO.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (within the past 24 months is considered active) and is contingent upon ability to be cleared to program.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
5+ years of experience in a finance related position such as Financial Operations, Cost Management, Accounting, Estimating, Financial Planning, Contracts or Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA)
Experience working on government proposals, to include Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA) compliant proposals
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
8+ years of experience in a finance related position such as Financial Operations, Cost Management, Accounting, Estimating, Financial Planning, Contracts or Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA)
Master's degree or higher
Experience addressing senior leadership
Experience performing opportunity and risk analysis (discrete and statistical / Monte Carlo)
Experience performing parametric estimates and data analysis
Experience performing substantiated quick-turn (1-2 weeks) Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates and tests of reasonableness
Typical Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 8 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
