Job Description
As a Shift Supervisor, you will oversee production processes, and manage employee development. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be supervising the rotating production shift operators and leading safety initiatives and regulations, conducting inspections, and maintaining a clean work environment.

WHEN YOU JOIN US YOU WILL BE:
Lead and improve safety systems and initiatives to deliver a world class safety culture and environment.
Investigate and prepare reports on safety near-misses, accidents and hazard identification
Ensure adherence to company and OHSA safety regulations, conduct safety inspections as required
Assures that a clean and safe working environment is maintained at all times
Provide manufacturing leadership, including recognition, development, discipline and performance management of employees as necessary
Identify training and development needs and personal growth opportunities for employees, coaching and motivating individuals to achieve results
Conduct training, cross training and rotation of employees for product, process and employee development
Plan and manage scheduling for production team
Assign or perform shipping/receiving duties and complete necessary documentation
Perform production operator tasks on shift for break, vacation or illness coverage
Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
Conduct crew meetings for communication of safety, quality and goals
Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Quality procedures
Work closely with other production supervisors to ensure consistency
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Demonstrated safety leadership
Minimum 5 years of experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, 3 of which must be in a supervisory role; Experience specifically in extrusion and printing is an asset
Strong lean manufacturing and analytical problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment
Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability in order to successfully manage a diverse group of employees
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
Proven track record of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagement, demonstrated team building talent
Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills
Proficient in MS Office
Knowledge of JDE Oracle and Workday is an asset
