Job Description:

The Architecture & Design Program Manager is responsible for items related to the Architecture and Design of either the RaceTrac or RaceWay divisions. This individual manages and analyzes various documents and drawings, ensuring that designs conform to prototype standards. Up to 10% travel may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and supervises Architecture & Design Assistant Program Manager(s) and/or Program Manager(s)
  • Demonstrates a proficiency and provides guidance to ensure alignment with RaceTrac’s goals and core values
  • Leads by example, instructs and coaches Architecture & Design Program Managers and Assistant Program Managers to ensure that RaceTrac’s protocols and procedures are being followed. Takes the prominent role in the direct reports’ training and development
  • Reviews and analyzes construction plans and documents to ensure all designs conform to prototype standards and guidelines.
  • Coordinates with internal clients/consultants to provide design documents to the Engineering, Store Planning, Marketing and Operations departments for submittal to local jurisdictions.
  • Manages the design and rollout of new store construction as well as existing store remodels and retrofits as needed.
  • Manages external vendor relationships in areas such as Architecture and Engineering.
  • Prioritizes and responds to requests, problems, or questions that arise during the engineering or construction phase of a project.
  • Provides recommendations and assistance in the design and rollout of store remodels and new construction to the Senior Manager of Architecture Implementation and other internal stakeholders.
  • Creates design packages for local jurisdiction submittals, not limited to but including renderings and sample boards.
  • Communicates all necessary information to the Engineering and Construction departments to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is communicated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Attends site visits, pre-bid meetings, punch walks, and etc., as necessary, and provides feedback to the appropriate internal and external consultants when needed.
  • Supports the Senior Manager of Architecture Implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field preferred
  • 4+ years of Architecture, Engineering, or Construction experience in a retail environment preferred
  • Previous managerial experience preferred
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Revit preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite preferred
