The Red Hat Consulting Services team is looking for an Application Development Consultant to join us in Hong Kong. In this role, you will lead the on-site implementation of Red Hat technologies like Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, etc. You will gain an understanding of customers’ infrastructure and business needs, make recommendations that resolve pain points, and help them make strategic decisions. As a Consultant, you will build enterprise applications and capabilities around cloud technologies to streamline development and allow for continuous feature release of applications. This is a great opportunity if you are passionate about learning new technologies and expanding your core base of expertise, while traveling to client sites within Hong Kong and Macau promoting Red Hat solutions.

What you will do

  • Address the client's technical problems as the main point of contact for Red Hat professional services, consult with clients to work on troubleshooting and solution implementation.

  • Work together with the pre-sales team in deal shaping and solution design in the pre-sales phase.

  • Be responsible for the project delivery, including technical implementation, project management and client satisfaction management.

  • Co-work with the sales team to do account farming through delivery quality management and client relationship management.

What you will bring

  • Strong technical skills in the following 2 areas:

    • OpenShift/Kubernetes and docker

      • Solid technical skills in Docker

      • Knowledge and some experience in OpenShift by Red Hat; 

      • Experience with another Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution will also be considered

      • Hands on experience using Cloud as a development environment

    • JEE and Middleware technology

      • Good technical skills and experience designing and implementing JEE solutions.

      • Thorough experience with at least one of the major middleware solutions, preferably Red Hat JBoss Middleware; experience in Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, WebMethods, Tibco, etc. will also be considered.

      • Hands on experience in application development with Agile approach

      • Hands on experience on building pipelines and CI/CD.

      • Knowledge on Devops and Microservices

      • Enterprise Java development skills are an advantage.

      • Knowledge of Hibernate and Tomcat is an advantage.

      • Knowledge of Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite and BRMS Suite is an advantage.

  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies on your own and apply new concepts to problems

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Good project management skills is a plus

  • Good English skills is a plus

  • Good Mandarin skills is a plus
