Job Summary:

The Accounting Associate is an entry level accounting role responsible for recording, monitoring, and reconciling operational transactions on behalf of agency partners. These transactions may include cash receipts, receivables, transfer of funds, direct bill commissions, and payables to insurance carriers, brokers, and producers.  This role provides opportunities for progressive advancement within the company as you grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Adapt to learn team processes independently and utilize agility to change responsibilities as needed.

  • Review processes to determine the tasks needed and timeframe to complete.

  • Handle larger volume and complex processes or tasks for team and Agency Partners.

  • Work can be in various areas within a regional team including cash application, receivables, direct bill, carrier/broker/producer payables, depending on assignment.

  • Ensure delivery of Service Level Agreements with Agency Partners - work with Supervisors/Managers/Controllers to provide input to the development of associated metrics to ensure high performance delivery of expected commitments.

  • Embrace a culture of continuous improvement, developing strategies to maximize efficiencies and unlock capacity.

  • Work on root cause analysis and issue resolution with the team, escalating timely to Supervisor, Manager, Controller as needed.

  • Perform assigned month end processes and closing procedure with team & Controller.

  • Collaborate with other employees who are performing similar functions to ensure consistency, sharing issue resolutions and best practices.

  • Provide prompt, accurate, courteous, “best in class” service to agency partners, insurance companies, leadership team and all staff.

  • Must be able to work on-site at Acrisure’s Grand Rapids, MI Studio Park location at least three days per week on a set rotation.

  • PC skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer are required.

  • Ability to efficiently operate a 10-key pad.

  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, including the ability to actively listen and problem solve with minimal assistance.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to a high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and enjoy a high degree of interaction with team members.

  • Drive to contribute to a collaborative environment by consistently demonstrating teamwork, high motivation, positive behavior, and effort to achieve goals and objectives.

  • Sense of urgency and ability to work with and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, using discretion surrounding sensitive or confidential information.

  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of work or college experience, required.

  • Associate or Bachelor degree preferred; major in Accounting is a plus.
