Job Description:

Responsibilities

This position is in the Division of Vaccine Excellence, Bureau of Vaccine programs. The Hourly Project Assistant II will conduct a short-term, qualitative analysis project under the direction of the Vaccine Manager. The project will include exploring Vaccines for Children and Vaccine Programs in the other 63 CDC-funded jurisdictions outside of New York State. Examples of other jurisdictions include cities such as New York City, the other 49 states, and island territories such as American Samoa. Project parameters will include additional jurisdictional contracting requirements for vaccine purchases, timing and mechanism of vaccine purchase, vaccines included in immunization program, additional eligibility requirements, and mechanism for inclusion of city/state/territory child health insurance programs (CHIPs).

This position will explore, review, and assist to assess the parameters above using information available on public websites. The incumbent will also have opportunities to interview the employees in other jurisdictions’ immunization programs. The incumbent will be responsible for a final report synthesizing the data collection and analysis results for the Direct of the Bureau of Vaccine Programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Current enrollment in a workforce training program or institution of higher education pursuing a degree or certificate program in public health or a related field, within the past six months.


Preferred Qualifications

Graduate coursework in public health or a related field. Experience implementing a literature review project, including data collection and analysis.

Conditions of Employment
Grant funded, hourly position expected to last through 12/13/2024. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.


Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will not be available.
