Data Analyst II – Data Ventures 

 

PLEASE NOTE: The team comes into the office 5 days a week; this is not a remote position. This role is based out of Bentonville, Arkansas. Job Summary: 

Step into the epicenter of data interpretation and analysis as a Data Analyst II. This dynamic role puts you at the heart of our operations, where you’ll play a critical role in decoding user behavior through our products. 

As a Data Analyst II, your primary responsibility will be to research, collect and analyze user data, transforming raw figures into actionable insights. You’ll be the creative mind behind user-centric dashboards that capture key performance indicators, aiding our product teams in their strategic decision-making process. 

Joining us means partnering with other Data Ventures teams, uniting your expertise with theirs to analyze, assess and provide insights about our users that drive our business strategies. Your analytical skills will not only shape our products but also plot the trajectory of our users’ journey. 

In this role, you’ll be a key player in our Data Ventures / Data Enrichment team, collaborating with partners across Walmart Digital Citizenship, Walmart Global Tech and our product teams to champion the ethical and responsible use of data and technology. 

Your impact will be felt in three major areas: enabling new data products by providing them with accurate data, improving product efficiency by focusing on data enrichment to reduce costs, and more importantly, ensuring the health and safety of our data to help our customers succeed.

You’ll make an impact by: 

  • Partnering with business and product stakeholders to solve challenging business problems and identify trends and opportunities 

  • Applying your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and provide actionable insights 

  • Defining and evaluating key performance metrics for new product launches 

  • Developing data visualizations to monitor and quantify the impact of the product initiatives and unique business challenges 

  • Identifying new levers to help improve key financial data insights, understanding root causes for change in metrics 

  • Conducting exploratory data analysis including hypothesis testing, statistical inference and statistical analysis 

  • Collaborating with data stewards and data engineering team to gather and process right information from various sources 

  • Working effectively cross-functionally and communicate data and insights to non-tech leadership team 

 

You’ll sweep us off our feet if you have... 

  • Strong exploratory data analysis skills and ability to make analytical, data driven recommendations and solutions 

  • Experience with languages used to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets (SQL, Python, Presto etc.,) 

  • Strong story telling experience with data visualizations in Power BI, Tableau, Looker etc. 

  • Experience with the data quality tools such as Google DataPlex (Collibra Data Quality or SAS Data Management or IBM InfoSphere Information Server) 

  • Experience with quality testing using Selenium, Cucumber, or Tosca 

  • Experience in building multi-step ETL jobs/data pipelines and working with job scheduling systems 

  • Experience with processing multi-dimensional data on cloud platforms (Preferably Google Bigquery and Hive) 

  • Experience working on Data Modeling (E-R) and have strong BI concepts 

  • Basic understanding of statistics and machine learning models 

  • Prior experience in the retail or finance business domains 

  • Compelling, persuasive oral and written communication skills and can build strong cross-functional relationships 

  • Comfortable with shifting priorities in fast moving environment 

  • Other tools and technologies we are considering are Oracle, Teradata, Hive, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, etc.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00-$130,000.00
