As a Lead Engineer working with the Head of Product & Engineering, you’ll play a critical role in driving the technical vision of the Nasdaq Risk Platform, shaping next‑generation real‑time risk solutions, and ensuring high‑quality delivery across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle, ensuring high‑quality, scalable, secure, and resilient system delivery.

• Own architectural decision‑making, balancing short‑term needs with long‑term maintainability while aligning with platform and security standards.

• Collaborate effectively across product, engineering, and operations teams, influencing decisions and communicating complex concepts clearly.

• Mentor and develop engineers through coaching, knowledge sharing, and high‑quality code reviews that promote continuous learning and engineering excellence.

• Drive operational excellence by ensuring reliability, performance, and continuous improvement, promoting automation and efficient development practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with 6+ years of professional engineering experience and strong Core Java expertise.

• Proven track record building high‑performing, scalable, and complex systems using modern engineering practices (CI/CD, Linux, Git).

• Hands‑on experience using AI‑assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, reviews, test creation, debugging, performance analysis, and documentation support.

• Proven ability to responsibly apply AI tools within enterprise standards, ensuring security, correctness, and long‑term maintainability.

• Familiarity with evaluating, adopting, and integrating emerging development tools into established engineering workflows to improve productivity and quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience with backend and cloud technologies, including Kafka, Kubernetes, AWS deployment/monitoring, Spring, SQL, Docker, and Terraform.

• Additional programming versatility with Python and TypeScript/React for scripting, automation, or frontend collaboration.

• Background in capital markets, FinTech, or regulated industries.

This position will be located in Stockholm and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
