As a Lead Engineer working with the Head of Product & Engineering, you’ll play a critical role in driving the technical vision of the Nasdaq Risk Platform, shaping next‑generation real‑time risk solutions, and ensuring high‑quality delivery across teams.

Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle, ensuring high‑quality, scalable, secure, and resilient system delivery.
Own architectural decision‑making, balancing short‑term needs with long‑term maintainability while aligning with platform and security standards.
Collaborate effectively across product, engineering, and operations teams, influencing decisions and communicating complex concepts clearly.
Mentor and develop engineers through coaching, knowledge sharing, and high‑quality code reviews that promote continuous learning and engineering excellence.
Drive operational excellence by ensuring reliability, performance, and continuous improvement, promoting automation and efficient development practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with 6+ years of professional engineering experience and strong Core Java expertise.
Proven track record building high‑performing, scalable, and complex systems using modern engineering practices (CI/CD, Linux, Git).
Hands‑on experience using AI‑assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, reviews, test creation, debugging, performance analysis, and documentation support.
Proven ability to responsibly apply AI tools within enterprise standards, ensuring security, correctness, and long‑term maintainability.
Familiarity with evaluating, adopting, and integrating emerging development tools into established engineering workflows to improve productivity and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands‑on experience with backend and cloud technologies, including Kafka, Kubernetes, AWS deployment/monitoring, Spring, SQL, Docker, and Terraform.
Additional programming versatility with Python and TypeScript/React for scripting, automation, or frontend collaboration.
Background in capital markets, FinTech, or regulated industries.
This position will be located in Stockholm and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
