The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Project Officer.
Intra-operative imaging is an exciting and intriguing field at the intersection of engineering, optics, and biomedicine. Whether at the bedside or in the operating room, real-time, image based diagnosis of disease has the potential to greatly enhance patient care. The Project Officer will join a new research group at NTU to develop miniaturized medical imaging technology. They will develop new technologies with relevance to tissue diagnostics and surgery, in collaboration with local hospitals and clinicians. These technologies include new optical and biomedical techniques for cellular-level diagnostics from thick complex samples such as tissue biopsies, tumour resections and 3-dimensional cell culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement new technologies on novel applications in biology and medicine
Participate in multidisciplinary collaborations with scientists, engineers and clinicians
Write and maintain technical and scientific documentation
Assist the Principal Investigator and senior researchers in experimentation, design of new systems and approaches, and maintaining of written documentation.
Job Requirements:
At least Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or chemistry/biology or related engineering or technical background is required.
Experience and interest in biomedical research is required, demonstrated by prior research internships or other research track record outside of undergraduate curriculum.
Some prior experience with imaging technology or research (e.g. microscopy, medical imaging, scanning) is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with imaging is preferred
