Euclid Hospital’s 9th floor Med/Surg and Stroke Unit is designated for patients who have recently suffered from a stroke and provides the highest level of comprehensive stroke care that ensures patients are being treated quickly, leading to improved outcomes and reduced recovery times. As a Primary Stroke Center, certified by The Joint Commission, Euclid Hospital has met strict national stroke care standards and is held to the highest quality and patient safety standards
A caregiver in this position works days, from 6:30am—3:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.
Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school diploma or GED.
1 year of experience in a customer service-related role.
Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
College degree.
Microsoft Office experience.

Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires frequent data entry, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Requires normal or corrected speech, hearing and vision.
Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
