Job Summary

Assists Gift Shop Coordinator in the day-to-day operations of the Auxiliary Gift Shop. Performs tasks which ensure the maximum efficiency and return from the Gift Shop, Vending, and other retail.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Assists in the activities of the Auxiliary Gift Shop to ensure quality service is provided to patients, visitors, and staff.

  • Assists in the implementation of standards, policies, and guidelines, which will promote efficient service to the customer and staff, and which will maximize its revenue producing potential.

  • Assists in the facilitation of Performance Improvement activities in the Gift Shop, e-commerce, other retail, and vending operations.

  • Assists in counting cash drawers, minor bookkeeping and billing procedures, and ensures accurate and timely payments, reports, etc.

  • Assists in the purchase of merchandise and supplies as needed. Organizes back stock in storage are as directed by Gift Shop Coordinator.

  • Assists in the checking-in and pricing of incoming merchandise. Communicates with venders, manufacturers, etc. in regards to merchandise discrepancies, damages, returns, etc.

  • Inventories and maintains merchandise on the Gift Shop sales floor. Implements merchandise displays in accordance with the merchandising plans.

  • Assists in the training and supervision of volunteers assigned to the area by the Manager of Volunteer Services or Gift Shop Coordinator.

  • Assists in some job specific training of volunteers, delegation of duties, and scheduling volunteer to ensure maximum coverage is provided.

  • Motivates volunteer staff through informal recognition techniques and assists in the development and implementation of departmental, recruitment, retention, and recognition.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies

Preferred:
Experience - 3+ years of Inventory Management Experience; 3+ years of Retail Experience

Physical Requirements: Medium work - exerting up to 10 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently (34-66% of the time), and or up to 50 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or up to 50 pounds seldomly to move objects. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
