Description -
HP's Hybrid Work Division is growing and searching for a Technical Software Product Manager to lead solving customer pain points and delivering value to accelerate the growth of the Poly Lens cloud software platform growth worldwide.
This role is responsible for guiding the development and success of software products or features. The role is an advocate for the customer and key stakeholders and serves as the central resource collaborating with various teams, such as engineering, product management, design, test, quality, marketing, and business stakeholders. The role supports the entire product lifecycle from initial definition to tactical activities, providing oversight of strategy, technical, and marketing aspects, as the product(s) or feature(s) move from creation, development, production and release.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Customer centric focus on solving paint points and continually creating value for customers, key software stakeholders, and partners.
Translates key stakeholder and market requirements into executable and workable user stories and feature requests leveraging the technical knowledge necessary to explain and refine these requirements with the developers on the software engineering team.
Leads the entire software product development cycle, from initial definition to release, working closely with software engineering and program management to ensure quality and schedule.
Collaborates with other key software experience stakeholders to guide feature development and prioritization being added to a central platform that support multiple software applications.
Guides the team through execution by attentively monitoring milestones, tasks, and other deliverables, ensuring their completion per the defined plan.
Collaborates with marketing and sales for all business readiness activities, including training, communications, event readiness and marketing materials.
Keeps current with the overall market, competitors, and key technologies.
Education & Experience Recommended
Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Business or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
Typically has 5-7 years of work experience, preferably in product management, digital or software product development, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
Knowledge & Skills:
Technical knowledge of complex software systems, especially cloud software targeted for the enterprise that involves managing device hardware behaviors through firmware working as a customer solution through software.
Experience in software development, systems engineering, and/or software product management understanding both the customer needs and technical implementations best for customers especially working in Agile and Scrum environments
Business acumen and prioritization skills to balance software requirements effectively based on solving customer pain points, company objectives, and risk management.
Ability to clearly articulate customer value in user stories in JIRA to help engineering execute effectively based on software requirements
Ability to research and solve issues independently and able to respond with solutions or recommend appropriate alternatives
Proven experience working collaboratively across cross functional teams that are located across multiple time zones
Ability to drive successful software priorities working across multiple teams such as engineering, program management, and other product managers to achieve results benefiting the customer
Excellent communication skills to key stakeholders across the company
Learning agility and resilience
Analytic mindset to measure success through key metrics
