As part of a hardworking team of diverse facilities specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will play a critical role in the daily operations and maintenance of our state-of-the-art HVAC and other environmental control systems. With nearly 2M square feet of buildings and 500 acres of property and associated utilities, you will not only be responsible for the HVAC and their associated controls, but also in responding to trouble calls where your skills may also apply.

A fleet mechanic's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles within a company fleet, including routine servicing like oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, electrical system checks, engine diagnostics, and addressing mechanical issues as they arise, while also maintaining accurate repair records; essentially ensuring the optimal operational condition of all fleet vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicable.
  • Must be able to reach with arms and grasp with hands.
  • Must be able to push, pull.
  • Must be able to crawl and crouch, at times, in confined tight spaces.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, kneel.
  • Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights.
  • Exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels.
  • Exposure to outdoor elements.
  • Use various tools to include standard electronic hand tools, precision measuring instruments, shop equipment (drill press, grinder, saws, etc.), fabrication equipment (wire-wrap, crimp, and solder station), as necessary to accomplish assigned work.
  • Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms.
  • Tasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. 
  • Understand documentations such as sketches, drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams and give feedback to immediate supervisor on possible discrepancies.
  • Diagnose/troubleshoot equipment system failures, isolate cause and take necessary corrective action.
  • Troubleshoot/analyze/repair equipment.
  • Evaluate/assist with engineering in the uses of current and future equipment.
  • Make sketches and instructions when needed.
  • Read job specifications and work orders to plan work procedures.
  • Diagnose engine issues with or without computer software.
  • Diagnose chassis, electrical system issues with or without computer software.
  • Understand hydraulic and pneumatic concepts.
  • Work in a garage or outside on shop grounds.
  • May be assigned other duties as required.
  • Medical card needed for CMV (Possess or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of powered industrial, General, and Heavy Fleet equipment, as well as knowledge of circuits and operational sequence of components.

Paid Time Off:  Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
