The Multi-Domain Solutions Division at Leidos currently has an opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to work in one of the following locations:

  • Reston, VA

  • Alexandria, VA

  • Dayton, OH

  • Boston, MA (Hanscom AFB)

Ability to work in Northern Virginia is preferred. Candidate working from remote locations will also be considered but must be willing and able to go onsite for meetings.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for enterprise technical planning, system hardware-software-network design management, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding. Evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Duties include performing systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance.

  • Interface with Air Force, Industry (including University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs), Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS)), and other performers to ensure program network requirements and operational objectives are met

  • Interface with the ABMS performers and facilitate integration into a larger system-of-systems model

  • Designing and implementing robust configuration management

  • Risk Management of Designs and Deployments

  • Facilitate technical and programmatic information exchange in support of program objectives

  • Participate in Working Groups and IPTs, informal and formal technical interchanges, and formal reviews

  • Develop technical roadmaps; establish and maintain reference architectures

  • Document interfaces and standards Lead staff to achieve a high degree of customer satisfaction and maintain Leidos positive brand recognition

  • Manage organizational compliance with Leidos policies and procedures

  • By personal example, set the tone and direction for moral and ethical leadership

  • Build a culture grounded in the Leidos values, beliefs and expectations and highest standards of ethical and respectful behavior

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of systems engineering concepts and applying these concepts to Department of Defense programs, including risk management

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with customer representatives, domain experts, and other systems engineers in the development of complex DoD systems

  • Demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution situations involving the full spectrum of system integration activities

  • Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience 

  • Familiarity with Cloud and Edge Computing, Networks, Tactical Communications, Data Management, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, and C4ISR systems integration

  • Prior experience with configuration management design and deployment

  • Experience in Integration, test, verification, and validation

  • Prior experience with Model Based Systems Engineering

  • Demonstrated experience with Agile program execution and using agile tools (e.g. Jira and Confluence)

Clearance Required:

  • Must possess a minimum of a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working on ABMS or JADC2 initiatives

  • Prior experience designing and deployment networks

  • Prior experience with SAFe Agile implementation

  • Prior experience support Department of the Air Force programs

  • Previous experience working on complex multi-domain systems

  • Experience with large weapons systems and command and control platforms across the DoD portfolio

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
