The Finance Director, APAC is a commercially minded business partner that drives actions across all areas of the business to support the growth and profitability of the APAC region in a complex ecommerce environment. This role reports to the VP of International Finance Operations in our US head office. This is a critical leadership role across Finance and Accounting, covering all aspects of revenue, profit, inventory, and cash flow, and communication between the Operating Business and US Office.
This is a full-time role based in Hong Kong / Guangzhou, China.
What is a day in the life of a Finance Director?
Manage all FP&A processes and key decision support projects across APAC
Business Partnering – Support leadership with new business opportunities, potential acquisitions, new brands/products, and growth initiatives. Provide recommendations and develop reporting/processes that improve insight and decision-making
Strategic Planning – Advise on long-term outlook and develop strategic models that help influence long-term business decisions
Forecasting - Develop detailed financial forecasts of three financial statements, incorporating key financial and operational metrics
Reporting - Prepare and distribute financial analysis and reporting packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance. Develop reporting that helps provide clear organizational understanding of results and outlook and supports execution on programs
What will I need to thrive in this role?
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
10+ years of experience
Prefer retail/ecommerce industry experience at a global organization
Fluent in Mandarin and English
Ability to organize and complete multiple high-priority projects on schedule
Advanced problem-solving skills and strong judgement
Strong communication skills, including ability to communicate complex information to management
Strong financial modelling skills with solid experience on how to link the three financial statements and build forecasts
Knowledge of how to work with large amounts of data to develop scalable financial reporting solutions
Experience with cloud-based systems such as NetSuite, Workday Adaptive, and Tableau
Exceptional Excel, MS Office, Google Sheets skills
Strong SQL skills preferred
What is the team like?
You will partner with the Managing Director of Asia and General Manager, Australia and work with leaders in all areas of the business. You will report into the VP of International Finance Operations in the US and lead other Finance and Accounting team members across APAC. The team is data driven and results oriented. You will collaborate regularly with members of your team to implement and drive actionable solutions.
