About the Role:

As a Cook at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, you’ll prepare a variety of foods in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. You’ll work as part of a team to prepare meals for large events, ensure food safety, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work quickly and efficiently, and a passion for cooking.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Set up cooking stations and prepare menu items

Cook a variety of foods including meat, seafood, poultry, and vegetables

Maintain a sanitary kitchen and organize storage areas

Follow food safety guidelines and portion control standards

Assist with closing the kitchen and completing the checklist

Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances

Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma or GED required

Current ServeSafe certification required

At least 3 years of experience in food service and meal preparation

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Strong knowledge of sanitary practices and food safety

Positive attitude and customer-service orientation

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for long periods of time

Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
