Methode Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: MEI) is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join our North American Automotive team. In this role, you will collaborate with our Sales and RFQ teams to secure business for our EV Power & Sensor solutions. You will engage with prospective customers' technical and engineering teams to develop and deliver solutions, ultimately winning new business. Your responsibilities will include ensuring customer technical interfaces and internal engineering deliverables are met during the pre-RFQ and RFQ phases.

Responsibilities:
Analyze customer Request for Quote (RFQ) technical requirements to determine initial quote feasibility.
Prioritize RFQ’s based on technical requirements and Methode value-add to invest resources in responding to the customer RFQ.
Lead the RFQ technical deliverables including Design for Manufacturing, Bill of Material, Technical Design Review, responding to customer technical questions and, changes to customer agreement regarding any technical requirements and components.
Interface directly with customer’s engineers to manage all customer technical data and CAD drawings to accurately quote RFQs including defining specifications and manufacturing process requirements.
Coordinate pre-RFQ advanced technical activities including review of customer component and system specifications and requirements, identifying customer future design needs and strategies to target cross-sell product opportunities, and championing proof of concept technical demonstrations and reviews with customer engineering function.
Canvas competitor technical landscape including new products and manufacturing processes and vertical integration introductions.
Identify new customer product opportunities which align with Methode’s vertical manufacturing strategy.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
5+ years of related experience in sales engineering or similar customer-facing role
Understanding of automotive electric vehicle architectures including battery packs, battery modules, power electronics, e-motors and e-transmissions
Product and manufacturing process knowledge of busbars, battery disconnect units, connect blocks, high voltage junction boxes, current sensors and park lock actuator sensors
Understanding of all engineering disciplines through a combination of education, on-the-job training and from experience
Strong organizational, presentation, and client service skills
Ability to articulate the business value for technology investments
Results driven with a sense of urgency necessary to get things done in a fast-paced environment
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Willingness to travel both locally and domestically
