The Global Specialty IT organization is looking for a Business Analyst to join us on a multi-year Strategic Roadmap. This candidate will support the program initiatives specific to Global Specialty’s Product and Underwriting initiatives and should be proficient in using techniques that enable a highly iterative delivery approach of continuous requirement identification, focusing on delivering effective business value as quickly as possible using application of agile practices, principles, and lean thinking. The role will be responsible for conducting stakeholder interviews, requirement workshops, leading backlog refinement sessions, interacting with Product Owners, end users, and other stakeholders to elicit, document and test new requirements, test and validate existing requirements and create new user stories. The Business Analyst will provide support to developers and testers and facilitate prioritization of user stories, having a strong understanding of the business intent and the ability to help the team build business and technical requirements to comprehensively cover the business goals and objectives.
This role requires a Remote work arrangement. Candidates must live near one of our CT or NC locations and will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Qualifications:
5+ years of deep practical experience in the role, with repeated experience performing business analysis in a variety of complex situations.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
A minimum of 3 years insurance industry experience is a must.
Strong written and oral communication skill with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audience.
Experienced facilitator with strong presentation skills.
Deep understanding working in a highly integrated environment.
Strategic thinking skills: Ability to provide options and assess solutions, looking at the business holistically.
Experience understanding integrations and data standards that develop quality documentation for data mapping documents and process flows.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment and the ability to work effectively with clients, IT management and staff.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated and results oriented with the ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
Ability to structure and drive working sessions that promote collaboration, achieve synergy and attain desired outcomes.
Ability to effectively interact with all levels off the organization (i.e.: entry level end-user through to senior management) and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
Experience working in a multi-source offshore delivery center and shared services environment is a plus.
Experienced in developing estimates and prioritizing deliverables.
Experience in Agile development including prioritizing, creating/updating features and stories, Behavior and Test Driven Development, etc.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
