As the leader of the Data Architecture team, you will lead and grow our team who are experts in foundational data technologies. In partnership with our Enterprise Data Office, you will lead setting technology strategy direction, defining target state architectures, roadmaps, and building reference architectures/implementationsYou will establish strong relationships with business and technology partners across the organization, helping them to understand the strategic direction of our data architecture. In this position, you will also serve as part of the leadership team for Capital’s Global Technology Strategy & Architecture organization including as a member of the architectural governance committee. You will play a significant role in mentoring and supporting architects and delivery teams on projects and initiatives across Capital.

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and/or at least 12+ years’ experience in enterprise/solution architecture with a deep focus in data.  You understand the rigor and process of architectural work in an enterprise and the deliverables which are critical to its success. 

  • You have demonstrated ability in defining, designing, and delivering enterprise-scale data strategies and data management solutions leveraging sound architecture principles, approaches, and patterns. A broad and deep understanding of enterprise data models, data analysis, and leading data technologies and applications is required. 

  • You have designed and/or implemented modern cloud data platforms, preferably lakehouse architectures using Databricks, Dremio, etc. Experience and knowledge of OLTP, OLAP / BI & Analytics, HTAP, ML/AI and working with both legacy and emerging technologies is preferred. 

  • You have demonstrated experience building highly scalable solutions using Cloud database technologies. 

  • You have an innovative mindset and lead and develop teams by setting the tone, driving business results, investing in their development, and overseeing their performance.  You have 5+ years experience managing teams of engineers or architects.

  • You proactively research, assess, and recommend new and emerging trends including appropriate implementation patterns and standards. 

  • You are credible and influential, able to communicate strategic and highly complex technical information to diverse stakeholder groups and audiences at all levels. 

  • You possess commercial acumen, are knowledgeable about the business environment, and can lead translating key business objectives and customer needs into an effective architecture strategy and plans. 

  • You have a global mindset and consider all our operating regions when evaluating impact and making key decisions around technology, architecture, and people. 

  • Prior experience in financial services industry/asset management industry is preferred.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
