Job Description:

The Senior IT Lead Development / Design Specialist provides oversight, consultative advice and guidance to others as the Lead Designer and/or top technical Development Specialist within the organization. Role also leads the future direction of development and design patterns to be used across multiple systems / complex applications / cross businesses and for new and emerging technology projects.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides technical guidance, direction or expertise to others as a Senior Specialist or top technical lead on significant and complex development / design issues that may impact transformational technology or cross business strategic initiatives

  • Extensive understanding of the business supported and the overall Bank with deep expertise and specialized knowledge of technology concepts, technical environment, direction and related technology / tools

  • Helps set bank standards on infrastructure, architecture and various other areas of technology from a design / support / solutions perspective

  • Works in close partnership with technology COE leads in Architecture, Infrastructure, Security and/or third party / external vendor leadership teams in assessing development / solutions designs to meet transformational or strategic needs of the Bank


Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate

  • Graduate degree, preferred

  • 10+ years related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pega System Architecture, design and development experience

  • Must be language agnostic - meaning can understand and catch up with solutions that cut across multiple languages/ platforms (Pega/Cobol/Java technologies/Salesforce/.Net technologies).

  • Manages a diverse team of IT Engineers and Business systems analysts focused on complex development, system enhancements, new releases, large-scale applications across multiple product lines and businesses, involving significant scope and complexity

• Sets operational team direction and works autonomously in the management of their team and collaborates with others to establish and execute on common goals
• Partners with Product Owner(s) to build, refine, and prioritize product backlog
• Effectively prioritizes technical debt alongside capability enhancements
• Partners closely with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and other technology peer groups to design and deliver solutions
• Identifies and leverages vendor solutions / SaaS offerings where appropriate; manages technical vendor relationships and ensures SLAs, requirements are clearly defined and met
• Implements appropriate development standards, practices, and procedures in compliance with enterprise guidelines 
• Hands on – performs code reviews, technical analysis, and support of solutions as required
• Provides support for developed applications / platforms
