The Role

CompanyCam is seeking a Payroll & Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team! As a Payroll & Accounting Specialist, you’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, from calculating employee wages to ensuring compliance with tax regulations. In this job you will...

  • Verify employee time records, vacation, leaves of absence, retroactive payments, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Partner closely with HR Operations to address inquiries regarding pay and benefits, and ensure the accurate delivery of payroll services.
  • Prepare reports of company taxes, deductions, leave, disability payments, and non-taxable wages.
  • Assist in preparing year-end employee tax forms and information for audits.
  • Monitor and analyze expenses against the payroll budget to help prepare cost forecasts and budgets.
  • Accurately report general ledger entries for payroll accounts and balance accounts using accounting software.
  • Complete payments and monitor expenses by accurately receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Work with external vendors to resolve any invoice problems or inaccuracies.

You must...

  • Show up every day, taking the courage to do the difficult but necessary stuff.
  • Grow up constantly: you're OK working in an environment full of change. You take responsibility, love ownership, learn continuously, and have a growth mindset.
  • Do good by treating your co-workers and customers the way you would like to be treated.
  • Be technically savvy and hungry to learn the ins and outs of our platform quickly.
  • Have 1-2 years experience in payroll processing, accounting, or a similar role.
  • Have a general knowledge of finances, including accounting principles and practices.
  • Stay up to date with payroll legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Have stellar communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Have strong task-management and prioritization skills.
  • Be able to maintain highly confidential information.
  • Reside permanently and currently in Lincoln, NE or the surrounding metro area. Sorry, we're not hiring outside the US at this time even if you're willing to work during US time zones.

It'd be nice if you...

  • Have prior experience in payroll processing and accounting.
  • Have familiarity with payroll software and systems.
