The Senior Legal Analyst will support the Company’s Employment Law Team in providing strategic legal and regulatory support for Europe, Middle East and Africa regions.  

Role Responsibilities 

  • This position will support the Employment Law Team in Western Union’s Legal Department with a specific focus on supporting the Employment Counsel responsible for Europe, Middle East and Africa regions and may also include support of other regions as needed. 

  • The role involves direct engagement with business leaders, human resource professionals, outside counsel, legal and corporate colleagues, and other key stakeholders. 

  • Under general supervision, this role provides professional legal support to lawyers in the Employment Law Group and Legal Department in the form of advanced legal research, drafting of legal documents, negotiating contracts, and assisting with discovery and preparation for depositions, hearings and trials.  

  • This position focuses on employment law and human resource related matters and will be responsible for the design and maintenance of related records and documentation.  

  • The position involves development and enhancement of employment law and human resource related guidelines, policies, and procedures as well as providing training to various levels of employees and other duties as assigned. 

 

Role Requirements  

  • + 3-5 years experience as a paralegal or a Newly Qualified Solicitor (NQ) with a law firm or corporate legal department, preferably with a focus on labor and employment law. 

  • Degree in law or post graduate diploma in law with applicable work experience. 

  • Strong research and organizational skills. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide analytical and consultative advice. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and external stakeholders. 

  • Capable of routinely working with highly confidential and sensitive information. 

  • Collaborative team player. 

  • Demonstrated experience with review of complex legal documents and preparation of complex legal responses and documents.
