About the Role
The Gas Meter Assistant Supervisor supports the Gas Meter Supervisor by providing critical field support, overseeing daily operations, and assisting with team management. This role involves active participation in fieldwork, managing daily operational tasks, and supervising the team to ensure the efficient and safe operation of gas meter systems while adhering to established quality standards.
What You’ll Do
Field Support and Daily Operations:
Supervise and support the team in fieldwork, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas meters.
Ensure quality work by the team, making sure all tasks adhere to established standards and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate and manages daily work assignments, providing hands-on guidance to address any immediate issues and ensure smooth operations.
Team Oversight:
Assist in supervising a team of gas meter technicians in the field, ensuring they follow proper procedures and standards.
Provide on-site guidance and support to technicians, helping them troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and support training and development needs.
Installation and Maintenance:
Support the team in installing new gas meters and replacing outdated or malfunctioning meters.
Ensure that all maintenance and calibration activities are conducted accurately and on schedule.
Safety and Compliance:
Assist in ensuring all fieldwork is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Help conduct on-site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
Assist in maintaining accurate records of field activities, including meter installations, maintenance, and repairs.
Prepare and submit reports on daily operations, team activities, and any issues encountered in the field.
Customer Service:
Support the team in addressing customer inquiries and complaints related to gas meters during field operations.
Coordinate with other departments as needed to resolve service issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
Inventory Management:
Assist in managing inventory of meters, tools, and parts in the field.
Help ensure that all necessary equipment and materials are available for ongoing operations.

About You
Must haves:
Education: High School Degree or GED
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must have at least 1 year of experience in gas meter installation, exchange, maintenance, or a related field.
Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of gas meter systems, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
Nice to haves:
2 or more years of experience in gas meter installation, exchange, maintenance, or a related field.
Your Skills:
Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and supervise a team in the field effectively.
Exceptional flexibility in daily routines and route scheduling.
Project management skills.
Proven understanding of industry standards and quality control.

Drug/Alcohol Testing:
Drug/alcohol testing is required per Non-Regulatory requirements for employees working with water, electric, and meters.
Drug/alcohol testing required per Federal DOT regulations for employees working with gas meters.

Salary Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Bermex salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to customer contact terms, location, experience, and performance. Other rewards may include Paid Time Off, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, ESOP contributions, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and other region-specific benefits as eligible.
Salary Transparency
For those residing in NY, the pay range for this role is $75,000 - $80,000, dependent on qualifications and experience.
