The NASCAR Foundation seeks a talented professional to join us in the position of Director of Marketing in our Daytona Beach, Florida office.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Marketing plays a central role in the management, development and coordination of the Foundation’s marketing activities and is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive marketing plan that supports business growth, enhances brand equity and awareness of The NASCAR Foundation. 

At the core function of this role is the desire to build targeted, impactful engagement opportunities for all constituent groups, including donors, sponsors, drivers, teams, tracks, employees and NASCAR leadership.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Will lead the development of strategies and positioning to ensure a comprehensive and holistic presentation of the Foundation’s mission and impact incorporating marketing, programs, and fundraising efforts to achieve stated goals and objectives.   
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, training and managing all marketing functions. 
  • Engages and builds relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including current and prospective partners and supporters, advisory groups, coalitions, forums, trade associations, foundations, corporate sponsors, and practitioner groups for marketing and program delivery, quality and relevance.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports as requested by the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Marketing

  • Develop and lead execution of strategic marketing plans for Foundation overall as well as for the Foundation’s individual programs and fundraising initiatives.
  • Create brand strategy and development with ability to implement organizational branding and messaging.
  • Manage Foundation’s advertising and media placement strategy.
  • Oversee creative services in the development of marketing materials which follow brand guidelines and deliver needs of the Foundation, programs and development initiatives.

Public Relations

  • Serve as lead and liaison with NASCAR’s Marketing Communications team to tell the Foundation’s story for earned and paid media. 
  • Meet regularly with this NASCAR Marketing Communications team to foster and educate NASCAR at large on the initiatives of the Foundation.
  • Serves as a public representative of the organization, including cultivating relationships with community members, current and prospective volunteers and supporters, to build awareness of and commitment to the work of The NASCAR Foundation.
  • Creates and delivers presentations and proposals to various audiences.

Market Research

  • Implement benchmarks for measurement of Foundation’s awareness, support appeal, or other success metrics. Recommend and develop strategies to meet and exceed benchmarks.
  • Create and implement plan for target market analysis with comprehensive look at social, earned and paid media efforts. 


Development

  • Manage and implement the direct mail and online fundraising program for the Foundation.  This includes the designs, production, and execution of its direct mail efforts.  Overseeing the messaging, results and fulfillment of this marketing and fundraising effort. 
  • With an understanding of basic fundraising and nonprofit practices, manage the creation of marketing materials to include sponsorship decks and other materials for potential partners and event opportunities.

Digital

  • Oversees the Foundation’s website and continuously implement new tactics seeking best practices for use of content management systems to deliver the message of the Foundation.   
  • Responsible for building strategies and implementation of social media platforms, SEO and all digital communications delivering relevant and engaging content for constituents. 

Data Analysis

  • Utilize marketing analysis tools to measure the effectiveness of all marketing efforts, programs and fundraising efforts. 

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years related experience and/or training in Marketing within non-profit, sports and/or corporate; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven success in relationship management.
  • Ability to manager, communicate and collaborate effectively accross all levels in the organization.
  • Strong internpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Social media and website experience required.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience managing staff, including setting goals and performance reviews.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in Canva.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
  • Ability to travel 20%, including weekends
