Job Description

Strategic Business Partnering

  • Partner with senior leaders to align and execute the people strategy in line with business goals.
  • Use data and insights to advise on workforce planning, organisational design, and talent strategies.
  • Drive key people initiatives related to performance, engagement, succession, and capability development. I.e. female network, employee engagement network and leadership development.
  • Lead strategic change initiatives and transformation projects with strong change management plans.
  • Proven expertise in Industrial Relations management, Employee Bargaining Agreement negotiations, and resolving complex employee relations and operational challenges in multi-site airport environments with blue-collar workforces.

Operational Excellence

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation.
  • Support leaders in managing complex HR issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies and practices.
  • Oversee and continuously improve core HR processes such as onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle changes.
  • Monitor and support compliance with relevant local legislation and internal governance frameworks.
  • Act as an escalation point for HR queries, ensuring timely and pragmatic resolutions.

Leadership Development & Capability Building

  • Coach and influence leaders to build high-performing teams and improve people leadership capability.
  • Partner with L&D teams to deliver targeted training and development programs.
  • Support leadership reviews, talent calibration, and development planning.

Data, Insights & Reporting

  • Leverage people data and analytics to identify trends and make evidence-based recommendations.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership teams to support decision-making.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive the implementation and adoption of HR initiatives and programs at the country level.
  • Partner with other HR Advisors and People Services Leads, including regional and global teams, to identify and share improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to business cases, change management, and communication strategies for large-scale transformation initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior strategic business partner capacity.
  • Proven experience working closely with senior leaders across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change, lead projects, and deliver results.
  • Experience using HRIS platforms and HR data analytics tools (e.g., Workday).

  • Only perform work you have been trained on and deemed competent in by direct supervision
  • Cease work where there is a perceived risk or known immediate risk to the health and safety of self or others. If the task cannot be done safely, do not do it.
  • Allow for sufficient time to obtain the required safe work permits;
  • Promote the involvement of their workers in work health and safety activities on site; be responsible for keeping the workplace in a clean and tidy condition;
  • Actively and timely participate in work health and safety meetings and awareness training;
  • Demonstrate commitment to work health and safety through their own actions and attitudes.
  • Uses Personal Protective Equipment as required and directed.
