Description:
Responsible for achieving the business objectives by developing new business, go-to-market strategy and by leading the execution of these strategies in collaboration with direct or indirect reports, and other stakeholders in the company.
Provides strategic advice and consults with leadership team to set short-term strategic direction and operating plans for market/product lines/category/organization. Identifies and evaluates new business opportunities, including partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with potential partners, KOLs, and industry leaders. Leads the negotiation and execution of business deals and contracts. Actively participates in the management of Neogen Korea as a member of the management team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Consults with leadership team to set short-term strategic direction and operating plans for assigned area of responsibility and defines guidelines/methods. Decisions are typically limited by business or functional area objectives/guidelines. Initiates and approves projects or programs to continuously improve efficiency and competitiveness.
- Has direct responsibility or work with functional leader for functional strategic planning, including establishing and managing budgets for one or more departments in the organization.
- Management responsibility usually encompasses one or more category or account development program(s) or one work group/department within a functional discipline, such as strategic/key account management, channel/product marketing, branding, etc. Determines priorities, timetables and assigns resources/tasks. Accountable for the activities and results of their functional area.
- Typically, provides direct supervision to professional and support levels which include objective setting, performance management, and motivating, as well as training and coaching.
- Problem solving requires hypothetical thinking to determine best solutions for complex problems. Utilizes resources across work areas and departments to create solutions. Most complex problem solving may require in-depth interpretation and analysis for significantly different situations.
- Resolves issues and conflicts related to direct or indirect reports.
- Decisions impact one area of the organization and occasionally may impact multiple areas.
- Has responsibility for establishing and enforcing multiple concepts relative to the function. Working tasks might include:
- Implements sales and marketing plans. Identifies and defines significant market/category or account development opportunities to meet sales and growth objectives.
- Coaches and explains strategic plans and marketing methodologies to functional leaders and customers, to ensure their understanding and buy-in.
- Influences external decision makers, typically at managerial or functional leaders’ levels.
- Develops pricing strategy in line with business and strategic goals.
- Builds strong customer relationships and negotiates larger contracts.
- Coaches sales and marketing representatives to improve and/or develop new skills and competencies according the business development plan.
- Employs appropriate communication channels, such as public relations, direct marketing, advertising and sales promotions in support of the organizational goals.
- Drives communication plans to create awareness of Neogen as preferred supplier.
- Shares best practices with other Sales and Marketing Managers and Business Development Managers across countries/regions.
- Develops category strategy with key customers to drive profitable category growth and deliver category vision. Leads new product launch strategy and execution into the sales team. Ensures alignment of marketing plans to customer calendars.
- Incumbent communicates with MD, functional leaders, area/business leaders, and direct or indirect subordinates. interacts with external clients.
- Shares vision and demonstrates company values.
- Negotiates and counsels on an expert level, justifies controversial positions and demonstrates intermediate persuasion skills. Interaction involves convincing others to cooperate, grant approval, or act of a certain kind.
- Actively participates in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with Neogen’s values and ethical standards
Experience/ Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualification: A bachelor’s degree level of education. MBA preferable
- 10+ years’ experience in sales, B2B/ B2C marketing, business development or strategy development.
- Demonstrates in-depth understanding of sales management, channel management and go-to-market strategies.
- Working experience for the diagnostic/ analytical/ microbiological products & service preferable
- Leadership and supervisory skills necessary for managing people.
- Can-do, enthusiastic, collaborative, and friendly attitude with a strong desire to improve own skills base and find improved ways of working for the benefit of the business.
- Language Skills: Excellent communication (Verbal & Written) skills essential.
- Mathematical & Computer Skills: Good mental arithmetic and a good level of numeracy
- Proficiency with Salesforce.com, Microsoft Office applications
- General Requirements: Must be highly motivated, driven with excellent organization skills and the ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative.
