OVERVIEW:

Master Data Specialist

The Master Data  Specialist's primary function is to support the organization by ensuring the integrity of a style from the time it is created, linked, and attributed through the full life cycle of the product. The Master Data Specialist supports specific area(s) of the business and is responsible for the integrity of a style and product data to support needs across the organization. This position works very closely with partners from merchandising, vendors, store communications, ecommerce, distribution centers, vendor relations, sales audit, store operations, field operations. As the central point of contact for product data, this position maintains knowledge of governance standards and technology expertise to support the goal of complete and correct attribution.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Attribution – 60%
• Provide assistance and training for attribute population and governance in PIM MDM

• Add attribute values according to MDM/PMMS standards (i.e. Color, Size, Dim, Brand, etc.)
• Collaborate with 3rd party catalog providers and suppliers with the goal of complete, accurate, relevant product data in MDM

• Analyze product data supplied by vendors and facilitate issue resolution
• Supervise ongoing data quality and maintenance of product attributes to ensure common understanding and usage across the organization

UPC Assignment and Maintaining Standards – 10%
• Work with vendors to assign unique UPCs to products

• Create non-merchandise styles and assign UPCs

• Maintain UPC and style governance standards

Style and System Updates – 10%
• Analyze and execute all style modifications
• Partner with merchant to understand the intended business outcome to make the proper change
• Communicate changes to all parties impacted by the change

• Execute organizational hierarchy changes

• Manage buyer number assignments

Issue Resolution and Process Improvement – 20%

• Own UPC issue resolution (i.e. UPC Problem Log, DC UPC issues, etc.)

• Submit TEAM Communications to the stores with UPC issues

• Recognize issues within the process or systems and seek improvements to benefit the team or business organization

• Provide expertise to IT partners to ensure delivery of relevant and optimal system changes

• Miscellaneous daily, weekly, or monthly priorities that arise related to styles or attribution maintenance
