This is a key role within Professional Services (PS) responsible for driving fungibility across the PS organisation by unlocking unallocated and low utilized resources and sharing across business/product lines.

The Resource Manager will be aligned to one of the PS Line of Businesses and will drive and be responsible for the efficient and timely matching of capacity to demand and the provision of supply vs. demand forecasts in order to minimize idle/non-productive time and to optimise use of revenue generating capacity.

This role will be key in supporting in driving out the Resource Management Practice across FIS PS Capital Markets Services and the RM will be empowered in this role to make allocation decisions, break deadlocks and unlocking revenue potential.


This role will report to the Global Resource Lead for Capital Markets Services and will be a key member of the Services Management Team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take decisions on the matching of unallocated resource demand to available capacity and the resolution of demand conflicts, interlocking with PS and Project Management Practice leaders.  The RM & GRM will be the final decision authority.
  • Supporting the design, development, and maintenance of processes for the timely and efficient allocation of available billable PS resource supply to PS project demands.
  • Works with consulting management team, program/project managers to identify type of technical and business resources needed. Understands employee skills and proficiencies.
  • Identify capacity across PS and match to specific client engagement projects with a goal of effectively balancing resource utilization needs with planning targets, skills allocation, actual utilization and staffing levels.
  • Identifies incremental key fungible skill sets and ensures skills matrix is then enhanced and updated. 
  • Collaborates and effectively solves internal barriers with large cross-functional teams to accomplish company goals.
  • Proactively engage with PS & PM Practice leadership to drive remediation of PlanView allocations data.
  • Maintain & run Bench Report to facilitate fast and efficient searching/matching between available resources and opportunities.
  • Materially contribute to decisions on short-term training and strategic cross-training requirements, driving discussions on use of lower cost resource augmentation vs cross training internal resource.
  • Contribute to decisions on the leveraging of contractors to resolve resource and/or skillset shortages.
  • Driving key strategic initiatives around revenue optimisation and RUC acceleration
  • Other related duties assigned as needed.

SUCCESS MEASUREMENT

  • Reduction in number of candidates waiting for billable assignments.
  • Reduction in unfulfilled demand.
  • Reduction in time booked to non-revenue generating activities such as Idle Time, Training and Administrative projects.
  • Increase in average billable utilization.
  • Increased fungibility measured by the number of people cross-trained in multiple solutions
  • Resource demand across the PS Portfolio of projects is met in a timely manner ensuring that client implementations are not delayed.
  • Improved employee engagement scores and reduced voluntary attrition.

  • Experience of working in a Professional Services organization
  • Extensive experience in resource management in a global and multi-product environment
  • Knowledge of project management standards, processes, procedures and guidelines
  • Strong leadership and decision making
  • Ability to interact and negotiate with all levels of management and staff resolve issues efficiently and to reach agreement when there are widely differing viewpoints.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making team, conflict management, organization and time management skills
