Kemper Internship Program

Kemper is looking for students who love to problem solve and are willing to a make real-life impact on projects that may involve the senior executives to front-line associates.  We deliver meaningful experiences in various internship areas like Product Development, Claims, Operations, Finance, IT, Data Analytics, and much more. Are you ready to create your own journey by joining ours? This is a 10-week paid internship offering challenging projects that support Kemper’s strategic priorities. 
 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities
  • Perform data discovery, profiling, and root cause analysis on small to medium data assets
  • Build Data mappings between Source and Target systems
  • Participate in Data validation and Quality Assurance testing
  • Partner with Data Stewards to build and implement new data quality rules
  • Enhance existing data reports and Dashboards

Position Requirements:

  • Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree program
  • Qualifying majors include information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, data analysis or a related discipline
  • Exposure to Snowflake or cloud-based Databases
  • Professional or academic experience in data disciplines like Data Analysis, Data Lake, Data Science, Data Mining, Data Profiling, Data Curation, etc.
  • Exposure to the AWS Cloud platform and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Proficient in writing SQL queries on relational database
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large data set
  • Ability to work under direction, independently, and in a team-setting working effectively with vendors and IT leadership
  • Strong organization, time management, and communication skills
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
