Responsibilities

We are looking for an exceptional Data Engineer Intern to join our growing team. In this role, you will be involved in helping to build robust data pipelines to bring data from different systems into our database. You will also be tasked to automate data processes and drive analytical projects using various tools. Lastly, you will also get to contribute to the development of different AI projects that seek to improve productivity or compliment our analytical services.

In this role, you will also be responsible to:

  • Building and maintenance of data pipelines to ingest data from various systems.

  • Assist with the development of frontend analytics to support data-driven decision making.

  • Automate existing data workflows through the use of Workato.

  • Contribute to the development and prototyping of AI-driven solutions.

  • Partner with internal business stakeholders to understand various data pain points and develop solutions to resolve those issues.

  • Support operational needs of various business units.

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, or other related field.

  • Able to commit for at least 6 months.

  • Good understanding of Database concepts such as ERD.

  • Intermediate SQL skills (e.g. Join, CTE, and window functions etc).

  • Good understanding of Extract-Load-Transform (ELT) concepts in any language.

  • Experience in using data warehouses such as Snowflake and data transformation tools such as dbt Cloud is a plus.

  • Basic understanding of AI models such as classification and LLMs is a plus.

Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics

  • Fast mover and comfortable navigating a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills are required to present actionable insights to business leaders.

  • Thoughtful team player, a keen learner, and have a “can do” attitude with a growth mindset.
