What We Need:

 

2K is looking for an experienced and passionate Mobile Live Ops Marketing Manager for Japan - someone who has worked as a community manager in mobile and F2P industry with emphasis on live operations of RPG and Strategy mobile games. This person should be equipped with strong community understanding, influencer marketing experience, and well-versed in social network management, able to formulate solid community strategy with ROI discipline.

 

This role will be primarily focused on engaging with local game communities in Japan by formulating community strategy, managing content, and maintaining relationships with key community advocates and influencers. This candidate must have a basic understanding of analytics and have experience in making data-driven decisions in order to accurately provide feedback on community sentiment and pulse to the leadership and dev teams, to improve the product and service.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the community management of the titles assigned.
  • Own all the owned media (2K owned social channels on various platforms) of the titles and responsible for the performance of owned media
  • Be player and channel first to build a content plan that right message, right time and right place, caring about the conversion channels and messaging as much as the brand channels and messaging. Every touch point matters.
  • Define, facilitate, and execute internal plus external communication processes between the 2K community, Developers, Publishers, and other cross-functional teams
  • Help execute both internal escalation processes and external communication best practices
  • Enhance and create policies and standards to facilitate a positive player experience
  • Conceptualize and execute community-facing events, as well as feedback loops to help inform our development teams
  • Advocate internally for players to all cross-functional teams but also have an understanding of business results
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across all regions to ensure GTM objectives are met, with consistent branding and messaging direction.
  • Formulate long term and annual community growth strategies for the franchise
  • Revise and execute influencer marketing campaign, maintaining a regularly updated internal database.
  • Establish community insights based on daily monitoring on the community intel with analysis on the related in-game data:
  • Compile daily or weekly reports, inform decision making, and make strategic adjustments
  • Be a resourceful community marketer with a high level efficiency and cost control discipline when spending budget or OPEX-related costs

 

Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit:

  • The ideal candidate must be a person who thrives on complicated problem solving with innovative and creative thoughts.
  • Armed with strong community, social and influencer knowledge with emphasis on strategy game live operation.
  • A person with an approachable personality for influencer networking, full of new innovative influencer marketing ideas would be a great fit
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in game software or relevant B2C content and entertainment business industry
  • Strong community insight with particular emphasis on strategy games in Japan
  • Knows how to use all SNS/community platforms, their functions, and understands the specific nuances within each platform (Discord, YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, Forums, etc.)
  • Strong insight and knowledges on YouTube operation and algorithm
  • Good sense of picking the right YouTube thumbnails, video titles and tags for SEO optimization
  • Able to formulate solid community campaign for launch and post launch live operation
  • Ability to formulate community strategy based on the product insights and market knowledge
  • ROI discipline when conducting any community marketing campaign
  • Attitude of “learn and grow” through “trial and error”
  • Ability to craft systematic postmortems and performance analyses on previous campaigns
  • Data-driven analytical skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Japanese
  • Affinity and insights to 2K brand, RPG and Strategy game genre
  • Watches a lot of YouTube, Twitch or other video streaming or VOD platform
  • Pre-established relationship with MCN agencies or influencers
