Job Description:
Aruba WiFi Network Engineer
Job Summary: Specialized in Aruba WiFi Networks, responsible for configuring, optimizing, and maintaining wireless networks. Possesses extensive knowledge of LAN/WAN, cloud networking, and Aruba Wireless networking.
Essential Job Functions:
- Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Maintain data network hardware and systems.
- Investigate and resolve network and hardware issues.
- Research, analyze, isolate, and resolve errors.
- Assess and update older networks as needed.
- Technical Support and Leadership:
- Provide technical support for internal and/or external customers.
- Answer technical questions and recommend solutions.
- Provide technical leadership for network problem escalation and resolution.
- Network Installation and Configuration:
- Install and maintain network facilities, including hardware, software, and system data for small to medium-sized networks.
- Install network applications on network servers or voice equipment.
- Maintain, test, research, and resolve network problems.
- Perform network configurations and configuration changes of routers or switches.
- Documentation and Communication:
- Prepare data network diagrams and drawings to document current operational status.
- Prepare routine proposal documentation to meet customer requirements.
Mandatory Skills:
- Proficiency in Aruba WiFi skills.
- Expertise in Aruba Controllers deployment and maintenance.
- Experience with Visual RF Ekahau survey post-deployment surveys.
- ClearPass and NAC skills.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
- Cisco LAN/WAN – CCNA level experience.
- Experience in complex routing environments with OSPF/BGP/iBGP protocols.
- Knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls/Checkpoint firewalls (desirable).
- Experience with the configuration and management of IPSec tunnels on both firewalls and routers (desirable).
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related field.
- Ten or more years of experience in data networks.
- Five or more years of experience in Aruba WiFi networks.
- Experience in troubleshooting LAN systems and technical infrastructure communication issues.
- Experience with current network systems, networking principles, data, or video.
- Possess or be eligible to apply for SC clearance.
